It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Louise Ruggles (Portsmouth, Ohio), who passed away on August 15, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Newsome and Delzie Fields Newsome; and her husband Carl Vernon Ruggles. She is survived by: her children, Carl Roger Ruggles, Joenita Knapp, Brenda Fay and Kimberly Gifford; her siblings, Virlene, Elcaney, Muncy, Tilman, Daniel, David Newsome, Mattie Shope, Marie Newsome, May Seaman, Evelyn Martin, Mary Jane Justice, Darlene Justice, Beatrice Shy, Ivy Newsome, Lettie Gibson and Verdie Newsome; her children, Vernon Ruggles (Ann) of Minford, Darrell Ruggles (Roberta) of Indiana, Martin Ruggles of West Portsmouth, Susan Lawhorn of Elyria, Deborah Scott of West Portsmouth and Delzia Jones (Gerald) of Sciotodale; and her sisters, Linda Newsome and Rita Messer (Dave) of Franklin Furnace. She is also survived by thirty-seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
