It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alma Beulah Wright of Portsmouth, Ohio, born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, who passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Cox and Kathrine Buchanan Cox; her husband Dewey Wright, Jr.; her daughter Betty Grigsby; her brother Ben Cox; and her grandson Chris Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Beecher Wright (Sherry) of Portsmouth, Thomas Wright of Chapin, SC and Cathy Noles of Portsmouth; her sisters, Melba Lyons of Marion, NC and Jenella Walls of Charles City, VA; and her grandchildren, Shelley Nunley, Kathy Zamer (Andy), Josie Mitchell, Nathaniel Wright (Ashley), Rachael Atkission (Eric), Abi Grigsby (Josue Contreras) and Jordan Wright (Ana). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.
