Edwin left this world on June 15, 2024 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles, Jr. Kern and Agnes Kern (Schuster); his daughters, Sharon and Mary Anne; and his brothers, Kenneth and Norman.

He is survived by: his wife Betty (Neiling); his children, Susan Higley (Roger) of Portage, OH, Michael Kern of California, Edwin "Chuck" Kern, II (Sandy) of Michigan, Ruth Ann Edwards (Richard) of Illinois, Jerry Kern (Lisa) of Portage, OH and Jean Rogers (Brian) of Bowling Green, OH.; and his sister Mary Lou Evinger of Findlay, OH.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards the St.Jude's Children's Hospital.
