He was predeceased by: his parents, Gonzalo Olalde and Hilaria Olalde (Rodriguez). He is survived by: his wife Elida Alvarado; his sons, John Olalde (Ruth Hoffman) and Joe Olalde (Della Smith); his grandchildren, Alex, Cameron Olalde and Laura Olalde; and his great grandchildren, Emily and Mila Olalde. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
