He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Der and Juanita Von Der (Baker); and his nephew Joseph M. Atkinson-Miller. He is survived by: his sister Betty M. Atkinson (George) of Port Clinton; his nephew Richard V. Atkinson-Miller (Katherine) of Newark; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Joseph Miller of Belleville, MI, Tony Lee Miller of Newark, OH, Tonya Lynn Miller of Newark and Shawna Marie Lovell (Ron) of Newark; his close friends, Donald Groff II of Port Clinton, Betty Kaye of Port Clinton, Karla, Verna of Scottsdale, AZ and Georgia Smith of Port Clinton; and his pet Bootsy. He is also survived by eight great-great nieces and nephews; four great-great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
