He was predeceased by: his parents, Lona Wears and Emma Wears (Wilson); his former wives, Beatrice Carpenter Wears and Lear Butler Wears; his son Larry Wears; his stepson David Booher; his daughter Laura Wears; his siblings, Wilbur, Delbert Wears, Elanor, Cleo Wears, Audrey Curtis and Madeline Butler; and his grandson Jim Williams.
He is survived by: his spouse Freda M. White; his children, Barbara Honas, Connie Crawford, Sheri Wears, Geraldine Skinner (Bill) and Michael Wears; and his stepdaughters, Loretta Sampson and Carol Swearingen. He is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 38 Great-Grandchildren and 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
