He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrell Cochran and Hazel Cochran. He is survived by: his wife Terri Cochran; his children, Bruce McDowell and Kristy Cochran; his stepson Joshua Hazelton; and his siblings, Peggy Walters, Clyde Cochran, Deborah Hendrix, James Cochran, Glenn Cochran and Trixie Petty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
