He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Hale and Rozillie Hale (Hicks); and his siblings, Elvinis Shepherd, Irene Baker and Janis Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian (Hicks); his children, Roberta Hale and Michael Hale (April); his brothers, Henry Hale, Grover Hale (Delphi) and John Hale (Barbara); and his siblings-in-law, Harold Hicks (Irene), Wanda Neeley (Ralph), Frances Hicks (Johnny), Ruth Oney (Keith Carman), Arlene Adkins (Gary), Denzel Gearheart, Renee Hicks and Jane Hicks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
