He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy James and Ines Pearl Hicks (Cline); and his wife Janice Carol Barnett. He is survived by: his children, Scott James (Linda) of Texas, Lena Sizemore of Plymouth, Jan Bouman (Gary) of Willard, Michelle Pfeifer (Fred) of Shelby and Kim Combs (Mike) of Plymouth, Ohio; his pet Chole Rae; his grandchildren, Coty, Wyatt, Dillon, Nikki, Winston, Jesse, Katie, Luke, Nathan, Kyle, Tyler, Heather, Summer and Destiny; his siblings, Sandy Leonard of Glendale, Ron Hicks of Mansfield, Robin Adkins of Mansfield and Renee Hicks of Mansfield, Ohio.; his stepfather Chester Hicks; his son Jesse James; his siblings, June Montgomery, Louise Fromm, Bonnie Gushard and Doug Hicks; and his great grandchildren, Baby Richard, Amber Dawn and Khyrhyn. He is also survived by his fifteen great grandchildren.
