He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred II and Mary Parkinson II (OBrien). He is survived by: his wife Ellen Parkinson (McKown); and his children, Alfred Parkinson IV of Huron, Ohio, Valerie Parkinson Ripley of Huron and Sharon Parkinson Cottrill of Bloomingburg, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Life Point Community Church in Plymouth, Ohio.
