He was predeceased by: his parents, Ersel Dawson and Maudie Hill Dawson; his foster parent Wylodine Brown; his son William Daniel "Danny" Dawson; and his sisters, Phyllis Potter, Willodene Dawson and Palma Jane Dawson.
He is survived by: his children, Roy Dawson (Debra) of Thornville, Rick Dawson (Loretta) of Junction City and Staci Smith (Ryan) of Hilliard; his grandchildren, Rachel Barnhart (Patrick), Dustin Dawson (Brittany), Tyler Dawson (Cody), Seth Dawson (Fiance' Sarah Holbert), Tucker Dawson (Sarah), Garrett Dawson (Fiance' Audrey May) and Brooklyn Smith; his great grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Carter Barnhart, Kyleigh, Cohen Dawson, Henlee, Quinlynn Dawson, Elias Dawson, Maddisyn, Elayna and Raeleigh; his siblings, Ralph Dawson (Clair) of Grove City, Paul Dawson (Margie) of Beaver and Betty Soukup (Leo) of Wagner; and his foster siblings, Mary, Marcia, Marlene, Melody and Frank. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
