He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jack W. Powell and Kathryn "Pill" Powell (Sackett); his wife Bonnie Powell; his children, Julie (Mike Velkoff), Holly Powell of Troy and Jason Powell of Covington; his granddaughters, Kylie and Ava Velkoff; his brother Doug; and his sister-in-law Kim Powell of Tipp City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Barn Ministry, 2140 Rench Rd, Pleasant Hill or Hospice of Miami County.
