He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Jackson and Mary Ethel Ackley (Mary Ackley); and his daughter Colleen Ackley. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Richard Ackley Jr., Terry Ackley, Jeff Ackley, Jonathan Ackley (Brittany) and Molly Homan (John); his grandchildren, Tiffany Ackley, Corey Owen (Ashley), Colleen Owen, Charlie Ackley, Angel Jackson, Addison Ackley, Jacob Ackley, Luke Ackley and Jerry Homan; and his sister Mary. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
