He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul L. Clapham and Helen Clapham (Marcum); his brother Joseph Clapham; and his brother-in-law Randy Siler. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Clapham (Horch); his children, Michael Duncan (Julie) of Plain City, David Duncan (Connie) of West Jefferson and Michelle Ruszin (Ben) of Tampa, Florida; and his siblings, Brenda Siler of Lake Choctaw and Sandy Pace (Glen) of Mt. Gilead. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
