He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Pettit and Idabelle Pettit; his extended family, Ruthie Summerfelt Pettit and Norma Thayer Pettit; and his daughter Shelly Pettit.

He is survived by: his son Jon Pettit (Linda); and his granddaughters, Erica and Michelle Pettit.
