He is survived by: his wife Debra Motter-Oakes; his daughter Kelsey Dorsey (John) of Piqua; his grandchildren, Dominic, Sophie and Jasper; his brother Bob Oakes (Mary) of Casstown; his nephews, Skip Oakes of Piqua and Cork Oakes (Lou) of Piqua; his sister-in-law Joyce Oakes of Piqua; and his pet Haley.
