Verlin Phillips Obituary
Verlin Phillips, 80, of Piqua, Ohio, was called home to heaven on June 23, 2022, at his residence in Piqua, Ohio. He was born August 9, 1941, in Caryville, Tennessee, the son of Tom (Tommy) and Lucy (Wilson) Phillips, who preceded him in death. On March 13, 1965, Verlin married the love of his life Judy who survives.
Verlin is survived by his wife Judy, along with five children, Marianne Sterling (Mark Harris) of Piqua, Ohio; Brenda Chin of Tennessee; Linda Harvey of Piqua, Ohio; Dianne (John) Holland of West Milton, Ohio; Mike Phillips of Piqua, Ohio, and one sister Flossie (Roe) Cantrell of Sidney, Ohio along with sixteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Verlin was preceded in death by both his parents.
Verlin attended Round Rock School in Jacksboro, Tennessee. Verlin worked at Orr Felt in Piqua, Ohio for several years before retiring. Verlin enjoyed fixing and repairing things, going for rides through Lockington, Ohio but most of all spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, children, and his beloved wife Judy. Verlin had many friends and will be missed by many. Verlin was of the Christian faith.
In keeping with Verlin's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ones choice of charity. The family would like to thank the staff at Miami County Hospice for all there care for Verlin. Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home is honored to be taking care of the Phillips family.
