He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard M. "Mitch" Petty and Janice E. Petty (Long); his sister Sandra Jones; and his half-sister Michele Petty. He is survived by: his children, Alisha Varney (Evan) of Troy, Jerrod Petty (Heather) of Xenia and Alanna Wagner (Brad) of Piqua; his grandchildren, Braxton, Laine, Kenzie Varney, Aubrey Wagner, Raelynn and Rowen Petty; his stepgrandchildren, Chris, Adyson and Jillyan Petty; his siblings, Deborah Petty of Piqua, Cathy Baker (Phil) of Rushville, Randy Petty (Amie) of Piqua, Valerie Frazier (Scott) of Piqua and D. Scott Petty of Piqua; his half-brother Mitchell Petty (Sandy) of Mt. Gilead; his brother-in-law Rick Jones of Piqua; and his close friends, Duane and Carol Kemp. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews and many other relatives including great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
