She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Carey and Cecelia Carey (Reineke); her husband Walker D. Smitley; and her brother Wallace "Wally" Carey. She is survived by: her children, Kevin Smitley (Delores) of Milton, Kurt Smitley of Piqua, Lisa Whitaker (Jerry) of Piqua and Lori Francony (Doug) of Piqua; her grandchildren, Shawn Smitley (Leslie), Chelsea Smitley, Brittany Smitley, Walker Smitley, Maria Robinson (Thomas), Ethan Smitley, Trenton Smitley (Halie), Molly Smitley, Nate Whitaker (Mackenzie), Katie Rose (Mykah), Kylie Saine (Brandon), Brian Francony (Jessica) and Brad Francony; her brother Doug Carey (Marilyn); and her sister-in-law Maxine Curtis. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
