He is survived by: his son James Meyers of Greenville, OH; his close friend Brinda Simmons; his siblings, Marvin Simmons, Jr., Michael Simmons, Steven Simmons of Santa Ana, CA, Alvin Simmons of Ansonia, OH, Lawanda Kaye Charlton, Tina M. Harris and Allison P. Satterwhite; and his granddaughter Kali Lynn Meyers.
