He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. and Mary E. Schaefer (Minnich); his wife Ruth E. Schaefer (Moats); his son Jon E. Schaefer; his son-in-law Daniel M. Kaylor; and his brothers, Lester W. Schaefer and Michael M. Schaefer.
He is survived by: his son Jeffrey E.; his daughter-in-law Carol Schaefer of Piqua; his daughter Jill E.; his children-in-law, Willard C. Camm of Findlay, OH and Evanna M. Schaefer of Portage, IN; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Blankenship, Michael E. Schaefer, Elizabeth Fincel, Angela Mayse, Dana K. Roach, Mary E. Morrow, Jon "Jason" Schaefer, Katherine M. Fanzo, Eric Schaefer, Christopher Camm, Benjamin Camm and Mary Enderbury. He is also survived by 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and his nieces.
