He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee R. Smith and Blanch L. Smith (Miller); his wife Kathleen J. Eiting; his stepmother Florence R. Rong; and his son-in-law Cecil Stewart.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. David Smith (Janie) of Mansfield, Dorthea Casselman (Ken) of Morrow and Kristine Stewart of Piqua; and his grandchildren, Heather Perne', Ashley Delkash (Kaumyar), Dr. Joshua Smith, Dr. Adam Leininger (Erin), Andy Leininger (Libbey), Katie Stewart (Ben Hitchman), Dr. Grady Stewart and Cecily Stewart. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
