He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Silas Motter; his stepfather Charles Wilde; his brothers, Larry Motter and Steve Long; and his brother-in-law Dan Gurklies.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Motter (Weaver); his children, Donald L. Motter Jr. (Tami) of Piqua, Lisa Stover (Gary) of Tipp City and Mark Motter (Ronda) of Marysville; his grandchildren, Jennifer Smith (Joel), Brett Stover (Allison), Kyle Stover, Todd Stover (Tera), Ryan Motter and Chantel Welch (Mike); his great grandchildren, Grant, Jacob Smith, Thea Stover, Selah, Mikey, Zoey and Silas Welch; his siblings, Dennis Motter (Mary Ann) of Cincinnati and Sandra Gurklies of Troy; and his sister-in-law Susan Motter of Springfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County or to Greene Street United Methodist Church.
