She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Franklin and Helen Beatrice Kite (Evans); her husband James Edward Herndon; her daughter Sally Jo Herndon; and her siblings, Betty Ayars and Dean Kite.
She is survived by: her sons, Ted Herndon (Karen) and Michael Herndon (Michelle); her grandchildren, Mindy Carlson, Jody Bost (Matt), Robert Herndon (Kaci), Stacey Domer (Chris), Samuel, Elizabeth and Silas Herndon; her great grandchildren, Riley Carlson, Ethan, Emma, Braden Bost, William, Elizabeth Herndon, Lily and Jackson Domer; her siblings, Norman "Bud" Kite, Hugh "Chub" Kite (Margaret), Robert "Bob" Kite (Linda) and Phyllis Zimmer; and her brother-in-law William "Bill" Ayars.
