He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Geist and Ruth Geist (Stanley); his wife Linda Mitchell; and his siblings, Earl Geist, Vera Long and Anita Flaugh.

He is survived by : his children, Susan Jenkins (Dan) of Covington, OH, Sally Shaw (Harold Burton) of Troy, OH, Scott Geist (Kayte), Stacy Geist of Piqua, OH and Shadd Geist of Piqua, OH; his sister Norma Hawk of Litchfield Park, AZ; his grandchildren, Kelsi Langston, Anna Leugers, Jesse Jenkins, Jordan Geist, Jazmyne Geist, Audrina Patterson, McKenna Patterson, Thomas Sanders and Emma Geist; and his great grandchildren, Wesley Langston, Ellie Langston, Oliver Langston and Naomi Leugers.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home (646 High St, Piqua, OH 45356). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
