She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Grine and Clara Grine; her stepfather Joe Sheets; her husband Richard Duane Whitis; her son Edward Duane Whitis; her brother Donald Grine; and her sisters-in-law, Norma Grine and Little Grine (Thelma).
She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Aeschilman (William), Ruth Stouder (Alan) and Gwen Schmucker (Mark); her brother Norman Grine (Dee Gunn); her sister-in-law Pat Grine; her daughter-in-law Chris Whitis; and her grandchildren, Nikki Altaffer, Jason Schmucker, Kim Owen, Emil Whitis, Adam Aeschilman, Jessi Ellis, Emily D'Amico, Megan Whitis and Evan Whitis. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
