He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Paul and Nancy Rapp (Whitt); and his sisters, Diana Carle, Pamela Ingram and Paula Ortman.
He is survived by: his son Phillip Rapp of Chicago; his grandson Caleb Rapp of Chicago; his siblings, Joe "Douglas" Rapp of Waverly and Anita "Jayne" Alleman of Huntsville; and his close friend Cathy Kitts of Piketon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pike County Humane Society.
