He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulysses Hansel and Minnie Hansel (Lynch); and his siblings, Barbara, Bentley and David.

He is survived by: his wife Jayne A.; his children, Michael (Katia) of Santa Fe and Karin Cornwell (Jason); and his grandsons, Jackson Cornwell of Orlando and Lincoln Cornwell of Springboro, Ohio.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
