He was predeceased by: his father Melvin Tipton; and his nephew Lucas Scott. He is survived by: his children, Seth Tipton of Piketon, Heath Tipton (Haley) of Piketon and Brooke Barnes (Dillon) of Irvine, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Willow Barnes, Olivia Tipton, Piper Jo Barnes and Josiah Tipton; his siblings, Tangela Tipton of Irvine, Angela Tipton of Irvine, Christopher Tipton of Peebles, Sherry Strunk of Scott and Ronnie Phillips of Laurelville; and his close friend Melissa Adams. He is also survived by four nieces and two nephews.
Greg being a true educator at heart made a request prior to his passing for anyone who may be considering purchasing flowers for his service that they instead make a donation to Northwest Local Schools in the form of school supplies, such as back packs, pencils, crayons or paper.
