He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Woodruff and Ada Woodruff; his wife Ruth Criner; and his sister Lucy Carol "Cricket" Garner. He is survived by: his sons, Rick Woodruff (Julie) and Mike Woodruff (Janet); his grandchildren, Becky Woodruff (Matt Webber), Ollie Woodruff, Joseph Woodruff and Benjamin Woodruff; his niece Carrie Garner; and also Beverly Thorne (John).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pelotonia to fight cancer.
