He was predeceased by : his parents, Barney Akers and Agnes Akers. He is survived by : his wife Charlotte Akers (Branham); his children, Kim Akers and Scott Edward Akers-McMahan; and his sister Sharon McCartney (Albert).

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home (650 W Waterloo St, Canal Winchester, OH 43110). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 29th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
