He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sims and Elva Sims; his sons, Steven Sims Jr. and Matthew James Sims; and his brothers, Robert Lewis Sims Jr. and William Lee Sims.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Nelson Sims, Lisa Coleman Romine (Devonne), Stephanie Sims and Breanna Sims; and his siblings, Jeff Sims (Robin), Terry Sims, Jerry Sims, Rita Norris (Robert), Rebecca Jefferson (Kenny), Beverly Hatfield (Robert) and Peggy Demarzo (Joe). He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
