He was predeceased by: his parents, James Blackstone and Doris Smith (Dillion); and his niece Caley M. Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Blackstone; his son Michael Blackstone of Florida; and his siblings, Gary Blackstone of Zanesville, Beverly Schatzel (Ernie) of Bolivar, Brenda Beardsley (Jeffrey) of Duncan Falls, Lori Adams of Zanesville and Angie Gill (Mike) of St. Louisville. He is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
