He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard A. Thurston and Anna V. O'Neil Thurston; his daughters, Amy Sue Dillion and Robin Thurston; his grandson Austin Thurston; and his sister Margaret Thurston.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Blume Thurston; and his children, Jeni Williams (Chris), Andrew D. Thurston and Jana Baisden (Steven). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
