He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Kempf and Lucille Kempf (Kuhns); his wife Mary Ellen Eash; and his brothers, Edward and Larion.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Kempf, Michael Kempf (Diane), Brian Kempf (Debra) of Stryker and Scott Kempf (Christine) of Perrysburg; his grandsons, Zachary Kempf (Brittney), Gregory Kempf and Austin Kempf; and his siblings, Ervin Kempf of Navarre, FL, Dennis Kempf (Carol) of Williamsburg, IA, Janice Barrett (Garry) of Waukon, IA and Lydia Martin (Mike) of Parnell, IA..
The family suggests that memorials be given to CHP Inpatient Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
