She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Lojek and Marie Lojek; her husband William E. Schmidt; her son Harold Bernd Schmidt of Loudenville; and her siblings, Gretchen Lojek Gronewald, Manfred and Otto Lojek of Germany.
She is survived by: her sons, Ed Schmidt (Mary) of Mansfield, Bill Schmidt (Pat) of Lexington and Steve Schmidt of Perrysville; her grandchildren, Brian Schmidt (Krista), Terri Hamilton (Darren), Christopher Schmidt and Mathew Schmidt; her great grandchildren, William Hamilton, Evan Hamilton, Ella Schmidt, Wade Hamilton, Jakob Schmidt and Amelia Hamilton; and her sister Ruth Theofield of Clearwater, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
