He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Samuel A. McCoy; his parents, John McCoy and Angela McCoy; his brother Thomas; his sons, Leland, Aaron (Cherise) and Jeremy (Autum); and his grandchildren, Connor, Gavin and Tatum (Margaret Blackburn).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church, The Humane Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
