He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Recknagel and Marion Recknagel (Fry); and his brother Donald. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Ronald (Jane) and Kim Nagle (Mark); his grandchildren, Samantha, D. J. and Jimmy; his sister Judy Weiderhold; his close friend Mater; and his children, Crockett, Frank and Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Master.
