Rita Ann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Burkhardt and Beatrice Burkhardt (Bayer); and her brother Thomas Burkhardt. She is survived by: her husband George Gurtzweiler; and her children, Melissa Strange and Gregory Gurtzweiler.

I remember my favorite clown lamp you painted for me when I was little, which made it well into my adulthood! I loved visiting you when we were working on the farm. You showed me how to laugh at myself & the follies life throws our way, something I try to do every day. I love you, Aunt Rita—you will be loved and missed by many. May you rest in peace.”
