He is survived by: his close friend Peg Lauer; his children, Michelle Birdwell and Robert Bailey (Minda); his granddaughters, Aubrei Smith, Lauren Smith and Allison Williams (Blake); and his sister-in-law Glenda Bailey. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
