He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Smith and Isabelle Smith (Schmidt); his wife Joan Chapman-Smith; and his siblings, Larry Smith, Harold Parker, Marie Parker, Helen Smith, Robert Parker and Loretta Crown.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Richard Chapman (Linda), Scott Chapman (Kris) and Connie Chapman; and his sisters, Mary Jo Hoffmann (Eugene) and Katie Bell (Eddie). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
