He was predeceased by: his father Lee Garling. He is survived by: his mother Jane Garling (Clink) of Gibsonburg; his grandchildren, Avery Louise and Jackson Troy; his siblings, Tony and Julie Gedert (Mark) of Woodville; and his nephews, Andrew Gedert of Arizona and Alexander Gedert of Gibsonburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Pemberville First United Presbyterian Church or a humane society of the donor's choice.
