He was predeceased by: his parents, Eyler "Bud" and Mary Bailey Tong; his wife Shirley Chaney Tong; his children, Dorothy Shanks and Kenneth Tong; his grandsons, Owen Tong, Eric Mustard and Tylor Tong; his sister Margene Smith; his daughters-in-law, Debbie Tong and Glenna Tong; and his brothers, Raymond Tong (Catherine), Daryl Tong (Mae) and Wilson Tong (Deloris).
He is survived by: his children, David Tong of Peebles, Mark Tong of Wakefield, Tamara Penwell (Tony) of Peebles, Michelle Risner (Roger) of Lucasville, James Tong of Peebles and Thomas Tong (Leah Thompson) of Peebles; his daughter-in-law Tina Tong; and his brother Roger Tong (Peg) of Peebles. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
