He was predeceased by: his son Colton Leo Knotts. He is survived by: his parents, John C. Thomas and Yvonne Haney Thomas; his daughter Riley Ann Knotts of Tennessee; his brother John Cliffton Thomas Knotts of Kentucky; his uncle Eddie Haney of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; and his grandmother Sue Wooten of South Point. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and special friends.
