With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Steven W. Christener of Payne, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Steven leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Steven may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his mother Nelma Jean Christener (Nunn); and his brother Scott Christener. He is survived by: his father Gerald Christener; his children, Steven Swygart, Megan Swygart of Columbia City, IN and Faith Christener of Payne, OH; and his siblings, Shane Christener of Decatur, IN, Shelly Perez (Tello) and Stacy Handshoe of Decatur, IN..
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and at 6:00 PM at the Haggard-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home (225 West Adams St, Decatur, IN 46733).
Memorials may be given to the family.
