He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman F. and Elsie Arend Sr. (Gordon); his wife Mary C. Sauber; and his siblings, Herman Arend Jr. and Donna Dean Proxmire.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Fowler (Chuck) of Paulding, Rick Arend (Mary) of Paulding, Lorie Strable (Mike) of Paulding, Mark Arend (Karen) of Paulding, Den Arend (Denise) of Paulding, Tom Arend of Paulding and Theresa Busch (Bret) of Oakwood; and his siblings, Ivan Arend (Patricia), Alma Thornell of Paulding and Helen Sauber (Robert) of Defiance. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, private family services will be held at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Divine Mercy Catholic Parish.
