He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smallwood and Jeanette Smallwood (McHargue); his wife Ruth L. Ankney; his daughter Tammy Jernigan; his son-in-law David Jernigan; and his siblings, Sonya Gail Smallwood, Warren Smallwood, Eugene Bryant and Jimmy Bryant.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanene Cummins (Derron) of Cecil, OH, Tonya Smallwood of Cecil, OH, Robert Smallwood (Karen) of Pioneer, OH and Joy Buxton (Michael) of East Canton, OH; and his siblings, Harold of Jackboro, TN, Harrison of Jackboro, TN, Tommy Smallwood of Jackboro, TN, Nathan Bryant of Corbin, Teresa Jenkins (Kenneth) of Corbin and Glenda Smallwood of Corbin. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
