He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Freiburger and Betty Freiburger (Wisterman); his brothers, Lyle Wisterman, Myron Freiburger and Francis Freiburger; and his brother-in-law Michael Hampton.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda; his children, Autumn McCain (John) of Fort Wayne, IN, Kyle Hicks (Amanda) of Paulding, OH, Michael Hicks (Angie) of Fort Wayne, IN and William Freiburger (Hope) of Fort Wayne, IN; his siblings, Clyde Freiburger (Chris), Arthur Freiburger (Chris) and Gloria Harding (Harry); his sisters-in-law, Virginia Freiburger, Jackie Hampton (Bruce) and Linda Fink (Matt); his grandchildren, Harleyann McCain (Bailey), Chase Hicks (Mickaya), Kellin McCain (Hannah), Mia McCain, Matthew Hicks, Kaylynn Freiburger, Cecilia Hicks, Austin Hicks, Legend Breckler, Damon Webb, Marlo Webb, Danica Webb, Katelynn Gerbers, Trinity Gerbers, Alexis Myers and Taye Kepney; his great grandchildren, M'Lani Hicks, Damien Kepney and De'Asia Kepney; and his pets, Zoe, Buddy, Hank and Jazmine. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and adopted children.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Den Herder Funeral Home (1000 W Wayne St, Paulding, OH 45879). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to Honor and Remember or Patriot Guard Riders.
