He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie Hackenjos of Paulding, OH, Annette Nygaard (Doug) of Fort Wayne, IN and Heidi Pence (Jason) of Spencerville, IN; his siblings, Nilah Fischer (Bob) of Morton, IL, Fern Kaehr of Lynden, WA and Dema Hackenjos of Iola, KS; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Leah, Logan, Jacob Nygaard, Levi, Trinda and Asher Pence.
