He was predeceased by: his parents, Maburn Hale and Julia Hale (Evans); his wife Pauline Harrow; his son Robert Hale; his siblings, Dorothy Rhonehouse and J. D. Hale; and his half-brother Robert Evans.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Hale (Nancy), Sherwood, Kirk Hale (Kelly) and James Hale; his close friend Marguerite Germann; his sister Elizabeth Hart; and his niece Marsha Franklin. He is also survived by many grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Wounded Warriors or a charity of the donor's choice.
